These two views of this Devonian specimen of Crotalocephalus ("snake head") gibbus, (originally Cheirurus
(Crotalocephalina) gibbus Beyrich,1845. Prantl 1948) illustrate the characteristic bulbous glabella (forehead) and spiked tail of this very common but unusual genus of Phacopid trilobite from the Atlas Mountains near Erfoud, Morocco.
