A rock or layer may be dated by two or more radiometric methods. Sometimes the dates match impressively. Some dates don't match. Others match, but not at a "geologically acceptable" date. K/Ar and Rb/Sr ages, for example, may match, but not always at an "acceptable" date. Matching dates do not necessarily correspond with real time.
