Allgemeines Forschungsinteresse

Eric Edstrom kam zur University of Montana im Sommer des Jahres 1996 von der Utah State University. Er erhielt Ph.D. von der University of Minnesota im Jahre 1987 unter der Aufsicht von Professor Tom Livinghouse. Er bertrieb postdoktorale Forschung bei Professor Barry M. Trost an der Stanford University. Professor Edstrom war der Empfänger des Jr. Faculty Research Awards der American Cancer Society von 1993-95.

Gegenwärtige Forschung

Unser Forschungsinteresse gilt den allgemeinen synthetischen organischen Chemie und organischen Geochemie. Vor kurzem haben wir unsere Anstrengungen auf die Untersuchungen der Aspekte der Chemie gerichtet, die mit dem Ursprung einiger der angenommenen erstren Organika gilt, die aus einer präbiotischen Erde gemäss der Evolutionstheorie entstanden. Zwei Forschungsprojekte werden woanders beschrieben.
