The tibia (shown here overlain by an ischium and partial rib) is the largest of the two lower leg bones. The other lower leg bone, the fibula, is not illustrated here. Together, these bones permit rotation and extension of the rear leg. The tibia of Edmontosaurusis shorter than the femur, but this tibia measured about 1 meter (39 inches) long. Human tibia are about 12-15 inches.
