Earth History Research Center

The plesiosaurs were marine piscivorous (fish-eating) reptiles that ranged in length from under 8 feet to over 40 feet. They are found as fossils in Mesozoic sediments. The body was relatively short and streamlined and furnished with four paddle-like limbs. The tail was relatively short and the neck relatively long in some species.
